Agricultura Lusitana 2015 continues a set of other projects where issues of responsibility and social activism of design intersect strategically with product, communication or services.
The students investigated the reality and culture of the territory, visited the villages and collected a set of raw materials with which they built arguments that gave rise to the works presented. Contact with Aldeias do Xisto proved to be important, raising awareness of who we are and the values we possess.
Fab Lab has introduced the digital materialization that is present in each of the artifacts.

Tradition
The idea was born in a "alambicada", a moment of conviviality among the population of the small village of Aigra Velha. In which, an old familiar alembic incorporates the role of Aladdin from the cold nights, bringing with it the feast and the millennial knowledge. On cold winter nights, the inhabitants of Aigra Velha gather around Senhor Claro's alembic to make spirit. The environment is lively, keeping alive the old tradition of homemade bagasse distillation.
Product
A glass bottle, transparent as the liquid that results from the distillation in the alembic, wrapped in a copper spiral that remembers the volteios of the vapors in their ascent spirits. The copper spiral symbolizes a wealth of knowledges acquired each time they are "alambicada" and transmitted from generation to generation.
The metaphor of the "Aladdin of the nights of the cold" is associated to the bottle. With copper vapors, by the analogy to the material from which the alembic is made, in contrast to the transparency of the glass.
